![]() Helí García obtained a Bachelor‘s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Granada (Spain). As the recipient of the Erasmus grant, he completed his final year at the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych in Poznań (Poland). Among other recognitions, he received the Alonso Cano Painting Prize 2009 (University of Granada); the First Place in the III Painting Contest Ramón Portillo-Ciudad de Motril and in the XIII Arte Joven Latina Contest (Madrid) and the grant from the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators (2009-2010).
His artistic activity focuses mainly on painting, but does not shy away from other areas of creativity such as installation and video. His artworks concentrate on the actuality – the mainstream and the idiosyncrasy- the global reality and the individual within the society. He makes conscious allusions to the concepts of time, vanity, innocence and morality and makes no reservations in the use of irony. |
